1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Valknut, you agree to these terms of service and our privacy policy. If you do not agree with these terms, you must cease using the bot and dashboard.

2. Use of Service

2.1 Permitted Use

You may use the bot for:

• Server management and moderation
• Configuring server settings
• Creating backups of server configurations
• User management within Discord servers where you have permissions

2.2 Prohibited Use

You may not use the bot for:

• Illegal activities or violating Discord's Terms of Service
• Disrupting the service or servers of other users
• Spamming, harassment, or other forms of abuse
• Attempting to hack, reverse engineer, or manipulate the bot
• Collecting user data without consent
• Distributing malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Bypassing security measures or access controls

3. Account and Access

• You are responsible for securing your Discord account
• You must meet Discord's age requirements (13+ globally, 16+ in the EU)
• One account per user; creating multiple accounts is not permitted
• We reserve the right to terminate accounts without reason
• You are responsible for all activities under your account

4. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but cannot guarantee absolute security. By using our service, you acknowledge that:

• You accept the risk of data loss or theft
• You are responsible for securing your own account
• You must use strong passwords for your Discord account
• 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) is recommended for extra security

5. Disclaimer and Liability

5.1 "As-Is" Service

The bot and dashboard are provided "as-is" without any warranty. We do not guarantee that:

• The service will always be available or error-free
• All features will work properly
• Data loss cannot occur
• The service meets all your expectations

5.2 Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

• Direct or indirect damages resulting from the use of the bot
• Loss of data, revenue, or users
• Downtime or service interruptions
• Actions by third parties (including Discord)
• Moderation decisions made via the bot

6. Data and Backups

• We do our best to protect your data, but cannot provide guarantees
• Backup features are a tool; make your own backups where possible
• We reserve the right to delete data after inactivity
• When removing the bot, your server data will be deleted
• You can request deletion of your data at any time (GDPR right)

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, titles, and interests in and to the bot, the dashboard, and all associated software remain property of the bot owners. You are granted only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service according to these terms.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Terminate your access to the service at any time
• Modify or remove the bot or specific features
• Discontinue the service temporarily or permanently

You can terminate your use of the service at any time by removing the bot from your server(s) and logging out of the dashboard.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms of service at any time. Significant changes will be announced via the dashboard. By continuing to use the service after changes, you agree to the new terms.

10. Discord Terms of Service

Use of Valknut is subject to the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. Violation of Discord's terms may result in termination of your access to our bot.

11. Applicable Law

These terms of service are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands.
